Geotextiles

One of the actively developing fields of application of nonwoven materials is geotextile.

KOMITEX JSC offers nonwoven geotextiles GEOKOM, as officially registered (also known as DORNIT) for:

• construction of automobile roads and constructions;
• construction and repair of railway roads;
• pipeline ballasting and oil pipelines etc.

Geokom is registered trade mark (certificate 230203 from 05.06.2001).

Construction of automobile roads and constructions 

Geotextiles GEOKOM are used in construction and repair of temporary and permanent automobile roads and constructions as interliners for different purposes:

• in pavements;
• in road bed and its base;
• arrangement of dams, slopes and retaining walls;
• in drainage systems and surface water drain constructions.

At present KOMITEX offers geotextiles of following types:

• GEOKOM-D (needlepunched, weight 100-1200 g/m2, width up to 5,0 m)
• GEOKOM-DTM (needlepunched with additional thermofixation, weight 100-400 g/m2, width up to 4,5 m).

The main target of use of geotextiles GEOKOM is ensuring stable functioning of automobile road, other objects of transport construction or its separate elements in complex operating conditions.

GEOKOM interliners' arrangenment permits:

• to enhance maintainability and life time of road constructions or separate elements;
• to raise road quality;
• to simplify construction technology;
• to reduce construction terms;
• to reduce traditional road-construction materials consumption;
• to reduce earthwork volume;

Materials GEOKOM are used in road construction in different regions of Russia and CIS, as well as in development of oil, gas and other fields.

Nonwoven geotextiles of KOMITEX JSC have been approved and recommended by VNIIGAZ, SOYUZDORNII, ROSDORNII, VNIIST, NIINM and are given all necessary certificates.

ANO «Soyuzekspertiza» TPP of Russian Federation (SOEKS) and Tekstiekspo awarded Komitex JCS a Certificate «Guarantee of quality - 2009» on geotextiles GEOKOM in 2009.

Pipeline ballasting and oil pipelines

Geotextiles GEOKOM are used:

• ballasting construction of underground pipelines systems, laid in different earth and climate conditions
• as interlining under all types of weighting materials of pipeline and at metal belts' arrangement.

For these purposes Komitex offers two brands of GEOKOM:

• geotextile material GEOKOM B-450
• geotextile material GEOKOM B-360

The company has the opportunity to deliver the Nonwoven geotextiles in carpets of different standard size to be used under concrete weighting materials.

With a view of maintenance of quality at major overhaul, reconstruction and construction of the main gas pipelines by Department on transportation, underground storage and use of gas of Gazprom are recommended for inclusion in projects geosynthetic materials of mainly Russian manufacture, including geosynthetic nonwoven materials of manufacture of Komitex JSC.

Many-years partners and consumers of geotextile materials made by Komitex JSC are GAZPROM JSC branches.

Technical specifications for a geotextile nonwovens made by Komitex for road construction and ballasting of gas and oil pipelines have passed examination in VNIIST JSC and are included in the Register on TT, TU and PMI the basic kinds of materials and the equipment, bought by the companies group Transneft JSC.

Materials GEOKOM are approved and recommended by VNIIGAS, have the conclusion VNIIGAS and the Conformity certificate VNIIGAS.

Also geotextile GEOKOM are approved and recommended to application NIINM, have all necessary certificates.

Construction and reconstruction of railway roads

Geotextile material GEOKOM is used for reinforcing the ballast section and the main area of rail road bed. For this purpose Komitex offers geotextile material GEOKOM with the weight of 300 g/m² and width 4,20 m.

Geotextile material is issued according to specifications coordinated with by the Department of ways and constructions JSC "Russian Railways", the Head doctor on a railway transportation, FGUP VNIIZG Rospotrebnadzor.

This material has a Resolution of the Department of ways and constructions JSC "Russian Railways" and all necessary certificates, including the certificate of conformity, the certificate of fire safety, the sanitary-and-epidemiologic conclusion (given out by Department of Federal service on supervision in sphere of protection of the rights of consumers and well-being of the person on a railway transportation).

Nonwoven material for railways became laureate of the Program "100 best goods of Russia" in 2003 and laureate of the competition "Komi Republic government reward in the field of quality".

Komitex JSC is the official geotextile supplier for the JSC RUSSIAN RAILWAYS in 2002-2008.

Waterproofing

JSC Komitex offers following Geotextiles dubbed with polyethylene film:

1. Geotextiles dubbed with polyethylene film on the one side;
2. Two layers of Geotextiles dubbed with polyethylene film inside (three-layered material of sandwich type).

These materials are used for waterproofing in construction of mud storage, dumps and etc.

Other fields of application

Building of hydroengineering constructions (canals, swimming pools, reservoirs etc.)
Geotextiles GEOKOM prevent sand losses in uliginous soil during building of hydroengineering constructions, hinder in root germination and also provide effective protection of membrane from mechanical failure.

Paving flag laying
Usage of Geotextiles GEOKOM in foundation prevents sand ablation to the soil during paving flag laying and prevents paving flag depression which greatly increases the life of construction.

Application of Geotextile for struggle against thrickets cow-parsnip
Geotextiles GEOKOM (D-100, DTM-100) are used at struggle against uncontrollable distribution of plants a cow-parsnip of Sosnovsky (Methodical recommendations on struggle against uncontrollable distribution of plants a cow-parsnip of Sosnovsky - Syktyvkar, 2008) (see section «Nonwovens for an agriculture»).

Geotextiles GEOKOM are also used for parking areas arrangement, storage spaces arrangement, for reinforcing of bases arrangement, for inverse roof coverings for mechanical security of waterproof membrane etc.

Komitex JSC together with partners develops new kinds of a roof and isolation materials.
